Beginner Bass Fishing Lures

Over the years bass fishing has soared to near cult popularity through the years such that there have been so many clubs formed, products made and articles written about it. Here you will read about the types of beginning bass fishing lures you can use.

Included also is a list of the necessary equipment you need when going bass fishing.

There is one type of bass that will eat almost anything, and that is the largemouth bass. From minnows, worms, or other live bait, plus poppers or streamers presented with a fly rod, or plugs thrown from a casting or spinning rod are the type of bass lures you can use.

I suggest that you use a weedless bait since bass is usually associated with weeds. The best fishing time is during the warm months, usually in the morning and evenings. This is because they usually like to stay in warm water and warm weather. You’ll catch very few bass during the winter months.

The smallmouth bass is pound for pound the scrappiest fish among all fresh water bass. Their favorite habitat is rocky streams or lakes where its favorite food, the crayfish, is plentiful.

The best time to fish in a lake is during the month of June after the spawning season, and in early fall. Natural lures like hellgrammites, dragonfly larvae and crayfish are especially useful when used during the early morning or late evening.

The best artificial lures are those who are used on the surface such as light tackle. Fish quietly, cast toward rocks or logs while keeping the line tight and the rod tip up. Many fishermen disagree on which colors to use for their lures. This varies based on the type of bass targeted.

Successful fishing takes more than just a simple fishing rod and some lure. Here are a few tools that will help beginners catch more fish:

• Fishing Rod.

This is the most important piece of equipment and should be carefully chosen. A basic rod-and-reel set is enough for beginners.

You should learn how to use the rod and be comfortable to it before moving to a more difficult type of equipment.

Know what kind of fishing you'll be doing, and under what conditions before you enter the store to buy a fishing rod. Rods are made from different types of materials, from wood laminates to fiberglass to carbon fiber.

Rod handles should fit nicely in your palm. Have the proper length of the rod and practice casting to see how flexible and easy it is to use.

If you want to catch tiny fish or want to use a lighter lure its advisable to use a 4 inch to 6 inch rod. To use larger lure, which gets larger fishes or to cast longer distances, you need a rod of at least 6 inches.

• Waders.

This is a water- resistant covering you wear over your pants to keep them dry that allows you to wade into the water. A lot of these are made like overalls and covers the chest and legs, with boots attached. Ensure that the boots are warm and secure for better balance when walking on wet rocks.

• Fishing Vest.

They contain several pockets for storing fish equipments while your hands are free to manage the fishing rod. Should you need to wade out into the water, wearing a vest will allow you to have all of your gear with you at all times. Decide beforehand which gear is essential. Storing too many things in the vest may make it too heavy to wear and this could bring you down.

• Tackle Box or Fly Box.

Fishing requires a lot of supplies and you need something big to store all your gears. Get a durable tackle box, in which you can store your entire lure, for easy access.

Beginners with bass fishing only need something small, but the more advanced fishermen require something handier. You should also consider a fly box which will be small enough to fit into a vest pocket and allow you to carry the essentials.

Commercial Fishing Boat Designs

When seeking out Commercial Fishing Boat Designs, the first step which is necessary for you is to first have an idea of the type of commercial fishing boat which you looking for. This is because commercial fishing boats come in many designs and types and you need to be sure to locate the most accurate boat design.

Let's take a look at the different types of commercial fishing boats before we go into their designs.

1) The Trawlers - These commercial fishing boats are design to haul fishing nets across the sea and trap fishes that swim in the fishing net's way. The boat will definitely feature a huge roller where the net is released or retracted when needed. Also, there is a platform where the fishes can be removed and poured from the net so the fishermen can properly categorize and store their catch.

2) The Drifters - This commercial fishing vessel is also one that is designed to operate a fishing net. They are however known as drift nets. The drifters are larger versions of trawlers and thus they have a broader hull when you look into their design. The roller which is responsible for the manipulation of the fishing net is also wider and powered by a stronger motor. Drifters are designed to be huge because they are meant for deep sea fishing.

3) The Seine - The seine being a flat and wide commercial fishing boat, is not that different from the drifter. However, the seine can be larger in size. The seine looks more like a ferry but its actual function is meant for fishing. The fishing net is handled differently in the seine. The seine is designed with a tower like structure which hangs the fishing net vertically in the water. This is to trap the fishes as they are circled into the net. Seines are very big and therefore can also function as storage for fishes in long distance sea fishing. The design would normally include a cold storage beneath the deck.

For more commercial fishing boat designs, you can actually visit a fishing boat dealer and have him show you the actual fishing boats they sell. Remember to compare the designs and you'll be able to discern the boats that suit your commercial needs and budgets the best.

Korda - What They Have Done For Fishing

As well as Korda stepping up the game to its competition in the fishing tackle department, they also provide some of the world's best carp fishing information which is seem everywhere worldwide in the fishing industry. They have produced many DVDs and also write for a lot of magazines and newspapers on regular basis giving constant up to date correct fishing tips and information to their very loyal fan base.

Everyone's talking about the new light emitting Esca Lures.

Buy these exciting new Esca Lures online at - www.escalure.co.uk

When Korda distribute their products they aim to give you as much information about the product as possible and they also try to give you as many tips as possible to using it correctly. For instance if you went out a and bought one of their DVDs you will be sitting there intently as everything is explained clearly and in so much depth to you.

The Korda team is built up of some much respected anglers, this must be why all of the products and information that is rolled out from them is so bang on. They give their entire products range thorough field testing to make sure that everything is working fine and that everything is durable and most importantly that it works the way it should, ensuring that it is the best on the market. Also it is these anglers who provide all of Kordas information which is why they have become so respected for their work. Everything from them is top notch on quality.

For one of the best fishing information resources on the web you will want to take a look at their website where they offer you all of this vast information on all of their products. Korda make sure that if you are just starting out as an angler you are going to be able to use their products without any issues, they believe that everyone should be able to do it so if it isn't clear at the start they will make it clear before anything goes to print or publication so that even the very most beginner of anglers can understand what is going on and how it should be done as professionally as possible.

I have seen many galleries, photos and videos from Korda products being used and the end results that they have produced, believe me they are exceptional and I can see why they are the leading company in fishing rig and tackle products worldwide, some of the pictures are incredible.

I can certainly recommend that you any angler should try them out because if you want to catch the best you need to fish with the best.

Korda - Leaders in Fishing Tackle and Information - What They Do

If you love fishing and know bits and bobs about what is out the for fishermen to use then you may have heard of Korda, They are a fishing tackle manufacturer that create and expand on their own rigs, hooks, systems and many other fishing essentials. The best bit about this company is that everything is designed for anglers by anglers. The team at Korda is made up of anglers and they definitely know what they are doing. If they didn't then they would not have the company where it is today.

As well as selling their own systems and other fishing equipment Korda are well respected for the information that they provide to the fishing community. They have produced a lot of DVDs providing so much information for anglers that of all experiences from beginner to expert. Korda have always been dedicated to getting real tips and information across to anglers and have been a leader in fishing information for a long time.

Korda DVDs are not like the average fishing video where all you see is fish being caught and nothing explained, they are instead probably one of the most valuable learning resources for anglers. Their videos go into so much depth and give so much information you will want to get out of there and onto the banks as soon as you can armed with your new knowledge. In Korda DVDs you will not be constantly watching fish get caught, you will also be experiencing what the anglers are doing as they take you through everything and then when a catch occurs they will show you what to do. I would have to say they are the top fishing information people around. Another good thing about these videos is that even if you are a more experienced angler, you will not feel like you are being patronized as the videos are explained in a way that is easy for both experienced and beginners to understand and watch.

Another reason why Korda is one of the leading fishing designers and manufacturers is because of their mottos and the way that they think and design. Take for example the fishing systems that they have designed and created, they will say that no matter how much harder it is to make the product they will make it work so that every system fits in with the existing product line. They also bring up good points about how annoying it can be to have to use different size rig tubes and swivels etc, that is why they have taken the initiative to design rigs and systems and all their equipment in one size so that it saves you the angler money and also save you a lot of headaches and time when messing around with your different size equipment changing all the time.

Another thing about Korda is that they put in so much time and effort with these systems and rigs etc that you know you will be able to rely on them, one piece of equipment that comes to mind is the way they put so much time and care into the rig bit colours. They spend a lot of time on these because they know that without the right colours you are going to have problems catching a fish that knows that you are there.

All in all I would highly recommend Korda equipment to any angler and suggest checking out their videos whether you are a beginner or a expert fishermen.

Korda Fishing Tackle - Informative and Quality

Everyone's talking about the new light emitting Esca Lures.

Buy these exciting new Esca Lures online at - www.escalure.co.uk

One of the best things about Korda fishing tackle is that you can find so much information on it before your try or buy the tackle, Korda strive to give anglers as much information as they possibly can so that their products will be used to the best of there abilities and will maintain a high standard in the industry. The amount of information that Korda provides for its anglers is of very high quality and is very informative for all anglers.

Korda fishing tackle ranges are extensive to say the least and offer very high quality products for reasonable prices. The Korda fishing tackle ranges from rigs to leads to systems and all of them live up to anglers expectations and have the durability needed with your fishing tackle gear.

One good thing about Korda fishing tackle is that they believe "why should you have different sizes for each part of your gear", this is a great philosophy because they make one size for all and make each bit of your gear interchangeable so that you do not have to spend more money on different size equipment than you need as one size fits all with Korda.

Another great philosophy that Korda undertakes is that they will check their products all the time checking for quality and design, where if the Korda fishing tackle would not be used by them themselves, it will not be shipped out to customers as they use the "I wont use, I wont sell" method.

All of the Korda fishing tackle range has been developed by anglers for anglers so you can guarantee that when purchasing a piece of equipment from them you are buying quality goods that many happy anglers have used as well as you.

You can probably tell so far that Korda want to make sure that their products are at the best standard and of the highest quality, but also because of what I said at the start about the information they provide, it edges them in front of the competition even further. The information available on Korda fishing tackle is extensive and ranges from pamphlets to DVDs. Because of all this information which they have strive to make available customers feel a lot more secure and happy because they always get quality products along with the correct information to use it.

Because korda do not just use a couple of anglers to go out and use their tackle but carefully select some of the most knowledgeable anglers around the country, that have so many different fishing styles, you know that your Korda fishing tackle is going to be used correctly no matter what fishing style you have as there is always information made available for it.

I hope that this article has helped you in your choices and maybe even gets you closer to deciding where you are going to get your next piece of fishing tackle from, as quality is a priority for you the angler.

Summary of "Korda - Leaders in Fishing Tackle and Information - What They Do"Korda - The Reason Fishing is Easy

Korda developments is a fishing tackle development and manufacturing company which produce high quality top of the market fishing tackle products which are made for all levels of anglers by anglers. They are world renowned for their fishing rigs and leads and other pieces of fishing tackle as well as being known for the vast amount of fishing information that they bring to the whole fishing community.

The thing with Korda is that if they believe if something can be done to make a piece of equipment better then they will try it, test it and if it works manufacture it. Not all of Korda developments ideas and theories turn out to work the way they thought but they still work and are constantly the best on the market. If there is a better product on the market then Korda will only act to make it better and not allow anything to be made cheaply and inefficiently. If it's not the best it will not get made.

Take for example one of their newest products on the market that Korda have produced, the hybrid bottom bait. This was supposed to be in theory a braided hooklink material coated in Flurocarbon. Basically what Korda were trying to achieve was to have the braid turn invisible when it absorbs water allowing for fish to get caught easier as they would not be able to see it. When this was in production they soon realised that it was not going to work the way that they were going about it. In the end this turned out to produce a really stiff coated hooklink. After finding this they thought that they want to go one step further as they usually do and make sure that they have the best coated material out there. So they sent their research team out and after a long time of planning, experimenting and field testing they came up with an outstanding piece that should be in all you anglers fishing tackle kits.

Korda take existing methods of fishing and extend it further all the way to the top so that the product is the absolute essential for all anglers, they have developed the best products in so many different areas. You could say that they all think exactly like fish when they go about creating their products, because they produce the goods and make them work so that the fish will either not notice the big hook waiting to get them or they will notice to big juicy bait and still go for it.

Another section that Korda are leading developers in is the fishing hooks part, After however many years put together that these expert anglers have spent on the banks, their hook creations have been created using all of their knowledge in fishing. The hooks are created exactly how they are needed with different specs for different types of fishing.

Remember that when you buy Korda products you know that you are in safe hands and believe it now or wait until you see it in action, their products and fishing information is all you really need to get your fishing to a very, very high standard

How to Fish Crappie "holes" Secret Fishing Method of the Past!

Old School Crappie Fishing Family Secrets

Crappie hole Amazing results!

A crappie hole can be anywhere, even in shallow water where you would never think crappie would be hiding. A crappie hole is actually a "hole" in the ground located in shallow water areas. You will find crappie in some of the strangest places. Gators holes are often great crappie holes. The average gator will dig a hole 12ft by 12ft . They will also mound up dirt walls entangled with Lilly pad roots, which are excellent hiding places for crappie.

In the Midwest and other areas of the county it may be a spot where a tree was removed,or died and rooted away, or a dip or pocket in the surface bottom, especially in muddy or muck bottoms.

If you are a avid crappie angler, you know these "crappie holes" hold crappie and you can catch an amazing batch of crappie in a very short period of time. Whyc Because they offer protection to crappie... but not from you! Here's what to do to catch crappie holes dry:

Step#1 You must get out on the water early before 7:ooam is perfect. Scout the shore line no farther then 15-20ft from shore to find your hole. Look directly in Lilly pads and in extremely shallow water.

Step#2 rig your bait at 6 inches, and flip your line to the center of the crappie hole. Flip your line with your wrist so the boober makes a popping noise, but pop to hard you will loose your bait. The popping sound simulates a A fallen prey and drives any holding crappie nuts and into a feeding frenzy. They will hit your bait if they are there.

Step#3 Gently flick your wrists to keep the bobber "dancing"

Step#4 If you are not getting any bites, raise your bobber completely out of the water and let it drop, this creates a similar but different and louder noise that will attract the crappie.

Step#5 And if you still don't get anything get your bait down 12 inches .. then pop the bobber a few times. Keep moving your bait down the line until you reach 2 feet under the surface, and keep popping the bobber.

How to Stop a Crappie "getaway" Amazing Crappie Fishing Tips Here!

Old School Crappie Fishing Family Secrets

You'd be shocked how many crappie get away from fisherman all over the country after the fish have been hooked. I'm willing to bet it happens to you at least a few times every time you go fishing (and some of these subtle bites you never even knew you had). Here are our surefire crappie fishing tips to limit your crappie "getaways"

TIP#1 Match your line color to the water your are fishing in. As a rule of thumb the cleaner the water is the more you need to disguise your line.

TIP#2 Don't try and "muscle" the fish after you set the hook...unless you want to brag about the fish lips hanging on your hook.(you can sit around and speculate how big the "rest of the fish" was!) Instead, you've got to wait to set the hook. Crappie like to swim a little before trying to swallow... give it a few seconds, then give a quick jerk to set the hook. Once thats done , it is a give and take process to tire the crappie out. Don't ever pull hard. This one of the most important crappie fishing tips you will learn.

TIP#3 I always use a net when I am bringing crappie into the boat. If you get a big slab on your line you could rip the hook right out of his tender lips just by pulling the fish into the boat without a net.

TIP#4 Use a rod with a lot of action. Set the drag so that you can give a little line before you rip the fish's mouth off. If all you get is are fish lips, you might have your drag set too tight. Just loosen it up.

TIP#5 Wear him out before you bring him in. Think of it as a "tug of war" match! You Gotta pull hard then let up.... a reel there..stop a second.. wear him out. You've got to find a balance on your drag settings. You want to set a little tension to tire out the crappie-but not to much so the line breaks. After he's worn out, you can put him in the net without to much resistance.

For Bass Fishing Success: Be The Bass

If what you want from your bass fishing is a nice day spent on the lake, then more power to you. Bass fishing for the unadulterated relaxation of it is one of the best and purest reasons to drop a line; however, if you're angling day isn't complete until you've caught and released a boatload or you're looking to haul in a few trophies then you are going to need a more head on approach. You are going to need to know your enemy and plan your assault. Be the bass.

Before deciding what direction to turn your boat for the day, consider the day itself. If you were a big, aggressive but somewhat lazy bass, where would you be in the early morning hours when the deep water might be cold and the day has just begunc Why in the shallows, sitting in the cover of the undergrowth watching the lake come to life. Same is true of the evening as the day winds down and the water starts to cool off. During these times, quietly reconnoiter the tall grass, the fallen logs, the underbelly of the lake world. Many bass may be starting and ending their days here, visible to the naked eye.

As the sun traverses the sky, the fish will start to migrate to and from deeper water; you can often catch them in transit. Cast sinkers that drift into the edges of the grassy interface. Be patient, don't bob the bait. This approach can be mighty fruitful on overcast days when the bass haven't quite decided to go deep.

Now that you're thinking like a fish, consider your bait. Lots of bass fishing is done with big bait because bass are fierce fighting fish and big bait just seems the way to go. Truth be told, bass are hungry and hostile. They will strike on a large variety of lures. Think smaller lures, spinners and don't forget the lowly plastic worm. Properly cast brightly colored worms are the number one bait for a reason. They catch bass. Shallow water is a good place to try a float worm. Straight worms get lots of bites in undergrowth.

Once you have knocked down few ways to think like a bass, it's important to write your discoveries down. Keep a detailed written record of the most productive and, unfortunately, the least productive ways you have developed for bass fishing. Make a log book part of your bass fishing equipment. Note the day and date of each excursion, the weather, the vegetation, the distance from the bank, the bait used. When you pull in that trophy, mark down the time; when you pull in that minnow, mark down the time. No detail is too small when developing your bass book.

Bass are strong fish who put up a good fight; that's the reason most bass fishers go after them. Study them and their habits and document your findings. You will find that your effort will ultimately pay off with larger and more consistent catches. After all, in order to land them you have to understand them.

Late Fall, Early Winter Bass Fishing Tips

Well my friends, sadly we are ending another year of Bass Fishing here in the Northwest. However, you can still land yourself a lunker this fall with these tips below:

1) Fish Slow, Fish Deep: As the water temps drop, it is important to chase the bass into the deeper waters, and along boulders which will help to retain heat. Often, you will see schools of bass laying up against the boulders, trying to stay warm. Also, as the ice begins to hit the lake, the bass will head towards more oxygen...hence, the deeper waters. As always, with cooler water, means slower presentations. Metabolism really slows down this time of year, so it is important to leave the bait in front of their nose as long as possible. Often times, you will get strikes only on reactions, so keep it slow and simple.

2) Flat head Jerk Baits: If you can find a flat head jerk bait at your local tackle shop, grab it. These baits suspend in the water, and have a much tighter wiggle to them then the average jerk bait for plug. This is extremely important during cold water temps. Often times, anglers make the mistake of using an extremely flashy, wobbly lure at this time, and won't get bit. These fish want that lure slow....The flat head is perfect for this.

3) Retrieves: Make sure you work the retrieve as slow as possible. I like to jerk, then wait 8-10 seconds, and then jerk again. The bass really need to see the presentation for a while before they get the energy up to hit it. Manually count the seconds in your head to ensure you are going slow enough. If you think you are going slow enough...You are going too fast!

4) Your Lake: Make sure you fish a lake that maintains its vegetation as late into the year as possible. Vegetation means oxygen, and oxygen means more fish. Look for boulders and rocks on the lake floor. These areas will retain more heat, and retain more fish.

In conclusion...The bass year is running low on time, but the real fishing begins. Make sure you watch for our articles at www.hungryhook.com for more informationon monster winter fishing in the near future.

Happy Fishing, and Respect the Lake.

Crappie Fishing Techniques for Winter Crappie!

Most people put their fishing gear away as the cold weather of winter approaches. This is really too bad since winter can be a great time to get out there on your favorite body of water and catch those big "slabs." By following these simplecrappie fishing techniques you should be able locate and catch crappie in the winter.

During early and late winter look shallow for crappie. Target the shallow bays, coves, and channels with cover such as weeds, brush piles, stumps, etc, in 3 to 8 feet of water using small jigs tipped with minnows or waxworms on light line in the 2 to 4 pound test range. If you don't catch a fish within 15 to 30 minutes move to a different location. Keep moving until you catch a fish. If you catch one, more than likely there will be more crappie hanging out in the same area.

Midwinter is the time of year when the weeds die off and the crappie will move to deeper water, generally, out in the main basin or river channel of the lake or body of water that you will be fishing on. Locating crappie during the midwinter months can be a bit more difficult. A good depth finder is essential and will make locating crappie much easier. Look for breaks, drop offs, ledges, and humps over a soft bottom. Crappie tend to hold over soft bottom areas. Target depths of 12 to 20 feet in these areas. Use jigs tipped with minnows or waxworms on light line and fish along the edges of the breaks and drop offs and just above the humps. Once again keep moving and trying different locations until you catch fish.

Crappie fishing during the winter can be fantastic. Don't let the cold weather keep you from getting out there and catching a nice stringer full of crappie.
